Welcome back to our Glossary of Terms series. It is dedicated to simplifying hard to understand Erasmus+ terms. Whether you are currently preparing a project or you are just thinking about it, you have probably already come across lots of specific terminology that can be hard to get your head around. This week´s term is ASSOCIATE PARTNERS
Who are associate partners? What makes them different from a partner organisation?
Well, to start with, let’s define what a partner is. It is an organisation that is involved in a project as a co-beneficiary. Therefore, they are officially involved in the project but they did not apply for the project (that is the applicant).
So then, what is an associate partner?
Associate partners are partners that contribute to the implementation of specific project activities or perhaps support the promotion and sustainability of the project.However, they do not receive any funding from the Programme. They do not get compensation as part of the project since they are not considered contractual beneficiaries.
