The Covid-19 crisis has forced thousands of educational institutions to set up their own online education scheme. Moreover, numerous reports at European level highlight the multiple advantages of online education, as well as the prospects for the coming years of online learning, such as the European Commission’s Digital Scoreboard. This is also supported by some initiatives included in Agenda 2020 such as the Agenda for New Skills and Jobs, Youth on the Move, or the Digital Agenda and the Innovation Union; which promote innovation and modernisation of education in Europe. The European Commission has made some progress towards a more digital education, providing frameworks such as DigComp and DigCompEdu, but there is still a need to further develop the role of the Digital Tutor, especially in non-technical skills.
