NATIONAL AGENCY

We are back  with another post making Erasmus+ projects more accessible by providing a glossary of the more specific terms needed when developing or working on a project.

Each week we choose a term that is commonly used in Erasmus+ projects but might be a little bit difficult to understand. We give definitions and explanations so that you are better equipped to develop your own project ideas.

In our last post we covered the topic of what a consortium is and the different types of consortia you can have in Erasmus+ projects. Go take a look if you missed out on it- it is definitely worth a read!!

This Week´s Term is NATIONAL AGENCY

Have you heard of a National Agency? Do you know what it is?

A National Agency is an organisation that manages most parts of the Erasmus+ programme in a particular country. Their role has a number of key responsibilities including:

  • providing information on Erasmus+
  • selecting projects for funding
  • monitoring and evaluation of Erasmus+ projects
  • supporting applicants and participants
  • working with other national agencies and the EU
  • promoting Erasmus+
  • sharing success stories and best practices

The programme is managed in a variety of ways for each of the areas in which it works. Here in Spain we have two National Agencies which deal with different areas of the Erasmus+ programme. The following two organisations are responsible for decentralised projects in Spain:

  1. For the field of education and training- Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE).
  2. For the field of youth – Spanish National Agency for Youth (INJUVE).

If you are interested in reading more, you can discover lots about our two National Agencies on their websites   [www.sepie.es] [www.injuve.es

Remember to follow our posts to stay up to date as we expand our glossary of terms each week.
