FamilyPadel: Sport as a family bond
FamilyPadel is an Erasmus+ initiative (Small-scale partnerships) that aims to promote padel as an accessible and inclusive physical activity for children and their families. Through free classes, workshops and tournaments in Spain and Portugal, this project aims to strengthen family ties, encourage healthy habits and contribute to social inclusion.
Project objectives
- Encourage family sports practice as a way of improving physical and emotional health.
- Facilitate free access to sport for children in vulnerable situations (at least 50% of the beneficiaries).
- Create a good practice guide for sports clubs.
Main activities
- 6 family padel courses in Spain and Portugal.
- 6 tournaments open to the public, including events during the European Week of Sport.
- Inter-club mobilities for the exchange of good practices.
- Publication of a teaching guide in 4 languages.
Partners
This project is coordinated by Espacio Pádel Catarroja (Spain), in collaboration with Racketspro (Portugal) and Meraki Projectes de València, entity in charge of the management, evaluation and dissemination of the project.
Expected impact
It is hoped that FamilyPadel will improve the physical and emotional well-being of participants, reduce inequalities in access to sport and leave a legacy of international cooperation and training that can be replicated in other European clubs.
