PurplePadel is an Erasmus+ project in the field of sport that promotes gender equality through padel. Its main objective is to bring this sport closer to women of all ages, encouraging their active participation and making visible the role of padel as an educational, integrating and promoting healthy lifestyle habits tool.

Objectives

  • Encourage the participation of women in padel.
  • Create a good practice guide for coaches and clubs.
  • Conduct free introductory courses for women.
  • Organise inclusive tournaments and awareness-raising activities around 8 March and the European Week of Sport.
  • Establish new partnerships between sports clubs at local and international level.

Main Activities

  • Visits to women’s associations to promote the practice of padel.
  • Technical training courses in both countries for women with no previous experience.
  • 6 national and international tournaments, with the participation of leading players such as Ana Catarina Nogueira and Sofia Araújo.
  • Production of audiovisual content through cameras connected to the Record Padel social network.
  • Production of a good practice guide in three languages: Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Impact and sustainability

In addition to benefiting more than 150 people directly, the project generates a tangible legacy through its good practice guide, new links between clubs and audiovisual documentation of the process. Communication and dissemination actions ensure the visibility of the project beyond its duration.

This project has been funded with the support of the European Union through the Erasmus+ Sport programme.
