TASC Grade B in Lisbon is part of the Teacher Academy Sustainable Communication, a European joint training programme of 20 ECTS focused on sustainable communication competences for teachers.vivesweb.be
Its main goal is to help educators address conflict, reduce polarisation and foster inclusion through words, active listening and structured dialogue.
Moreover, the training path is organised into three grades (A, B and C) that support teachers’ continuous professional development over time.eutasc.eu
From virtual learning to the Lisbon face-to-face week
During October and November, participants followed a blended learning journey with European online sessions, individual activities implemented in their own schools, national tasks and collaborative assignments.
Therefore, the Training Week Lisbon represents the closing chapter of Grade B, where all previous learning is brought together in an intensive onsite setting.
Five modules for a holistic teacher training
The international piloting week in Portugal deepens five core modules: Human Rights and Values, EU Values and Identity, Non-discrimination and equity, Understanding ourselves and others, and Dialogue.
Each module combines interactive workshops, role play, group work and guided reflection spaces.eutasc.eu
For example, participants train nonviolent, restorative and intercultural communication strategies that they can later transfer to their classrooms and staffrooms.
Lisbon as a European meeting point
Lisbon becomes a symbolic meeting point for the TASC community across Europe.
For five days, formal training is complemented by shared meals, cultural activities and informal spaces where teachers exchange experiences and classroom stories.
In this way, online connections are strengthened and a living community of practice is built, which will remain active beyond the training week.
Links with Meraki and other European microcredentials
Meraki Projectes contributes to TASC with strong expertise in instructional design, Moodle-based platforms and digital transformation in teacher training.
The organisation designs and hosts online learning environments for European projects, adapting active methodologies and digital tools to the needs of schools and training providers.
This know-how connects TASC with other microcredential initiatives in which Meraki is involved, such as AM-Heal, a Level 9 micro-credential that bridges additive manufacturing and healthcare education through blended training, a 3D printing hub and European accreditation.
Thus, TASC Grade B in Lisbon not only consolidates sustainable communication competences, but also benefits from a wider European ecosystem of modular learning, microcredentials and hybrid training pathways.
Bridging sustainable communication and other educational fields
While TASC focuses on communication, it shares a common vision with other European initiatives that promote innovative teaching and global citizenship.
Its emphasis on human rights, democratic values and dialogue connects directly with the Sustainable Development Goals and with education for sustainability.
Consequently, teachers completing TASC Grade B in Lisbon are better prepared to tackle complex topics in the classroom, from coexistence to climate justice, using reflective and restorative communication strategies.
Next steps: online assessment and European microcredential
After the training week, the next milestone will be the Grade B assessment, planned as an online evaluation in January 2026.
This assessment will validate each participant’s progress and will open the door towards the future European Grade B microcredential.
Finally, TASC Grade B in Lisbon stands as a concrete example of how European Teacher Academies can combine virtual learning, local practice and international mobility to transform teaching practices through sustainable communication.
